¨Periodontal Plastic Surgery for Soft Tissue Augmentation Around Implants¨
Female patient 25 years old, no medical background traits “ASA 1”, arrives at the consultation referred to the presence of fracture in the upper central #11; the treatment plan to perform was a post-extraction implant, bone graft and connective tissue and epithelized in the center with the modified technique of Allen.
The atraumatic extraction of the root of the fractured tooth is obtained, the dental implant is placed in the ideal 3D position and the bone graft is performed in the post-extraction side and the connective tissue graft combined with the epithelium. The next day the patient said that she had a trauma in the surgical zone, as she received a blow; it is monitored for 21 days and then it disappears.
A year later she returned to consultation with a critical condition in the treated area, presenting a very thin lamina of alveolar mucosa and nothing of gum adhered and keratinized as well as encapsulated bone particles, so it is decided to make a free gingival graft and the placement of a healing screw on the implant previously placed, which, despite the trauma, maintained its osseo integration.
Through the use of free gingival graft and the handling of white tissue in oral implantology an excellent keratinized gum band of more than 5mm was obtained around the implant with which it was able to obtain periimplant health, function and dental esthetics in the patient.
