Management of narrow alveolar ridge by ridge splitting and simultaneous implant placement
Diagnosis and treatment planning
After taking comprehensive case history and insuring that the patient is a good candidate for dental implant; through clinical examination was done including available inter-arch space, mesio-distal space, soft tissue thickness and position of CEJ of adjacent tooth CBCT scan was done using Kodak 9500 machine and virtual treatment plan was established.
Intra-operative procedures
After administration of local anaethesia full-thickness flap was elevated with one vertical incision
Crestal bony incision was made using ultrasonic tip of peizotome solo led ,then vertical bony incision was done to facilitate splitting of the two cortical plates
Splitting was aided by manual ridge splitters in ascending sequential manner
Two dental implants with diameter 4.2 mm (Reactive, implant direct) in ridge with diameter 3.9mm at the crest
Xenograft Bone substitutes ( smart bone) was placed interpositionally between the splitted cortical plates
Suturing was done using separate simple interrupted sutures using prolene 4-0
Post operative
After healing period of 3 months , implants were exposed and stability was measured using Ostell ISQ
Finally Two PFM crowns was cemented to abutments
Thanks
